Pawnee Mental Health Services

Goal: $200.00

Specific Need

Pawnee Mental Health needs funding to help us enhance our facility and provide a variety of items necessary for patient treatment and/or our community services work with children with Serious Emotional Disturbances and adults with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness. These items include but are not limited to: therapeutic games and toys, craft materials, food items used to help teach members of our adult groups how to select and prepare healthy foods. 

Mission

The mission of Pawnee Mental Health Services is to provide comprehensive quality mental health and substance use treatment and recovery services to strengthen the wellness of our communities.

Profile

 

Pawnee is a community leader in the realm of mental health.  As a community mental health center Pawnee provides numerous services not provided by any other mental health agency.  These services include:

 

- Community based services for children with serious emotional disturbances (SED)

- Community support services for adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses (SPMI)

- Ability to involuntarily admit a patient into the state psychiatric hospital

- Service availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

 

In FY2017, Pawnee provided services to 203 individuals from Mitchell County for a total of $508,000 and wrote off nearly $163,000 of that for reasons such as limitations in insurance benefits, bad debt and sliding fee assistance.
