Frankfort Janes Community Service and Beautification Project

Profile

Frankfort Janes is a community service organization that began in the late 1970s. Over the years, we’ve been involved in many local events and projects that support and enhance our community.

Our current focus is the Downtown Lighting Project—an exciting initiative to enhance the beauty and character of Frankfort’s historic core. We have successfully completed 30 poles downtown, with the final 8 poles along Kansas Ave scheduled for completion next year. This improved lighting continues to boost nighttime visibility and create a more welcoming, vibrant atmosphere for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.

Community support continues to be essential in this project. Fundraising offers individuals, organizations, and businesses the chance to invest in Frankfort’s future. This project reflects a shared commitment to honoring our past while lighting the way for continued revitalization.

In addition to this project, Frankfort Janes sponsors several community traditions, including the Summerfest Parade, an annual FHS scholarship, a Halloween parade and contest during FallFest, a holiday candy sale, and a visit from Santa.

We are also known for our downtown beautification work. Each year, we plant and maintain the potted flowers on the four corners of the downtown square. We also care for the “Welcome to Frankfort” signs on the north and west ends of town, maintain the downtown mural area, the historic Frankfort Jail, and the corner near Hale Repair. Countless volunteer hours go into weeding, cleaning, and maintaining these spaces.

We’re proud of our past work and excited for what’s ahead. Your support or donation helps us continue making a lasting difference in the heart of Frankfort.
